Our
History
Strawberry Creek Farm Market has a long-standing connection to the community. Over the years, the farm has changed ownership and moved locations, eventually settling at its current home at 17471 Woodbine Avenue in Newmarket, Ontario. Through each chapter, the farm has grown and evolved while maintaining its focus on quality, community, and creating a welcoming space for families. Today, it continues to thrive under the ownership of Kevin and Mary-Anne, with help from their son Dave and Daughter-in-law Bekah.
Both Kevin and Mary-Anne come from families with deep farming roots — Kevin and Mary-Anne’s family have farming histories dating back to the mid-1800s in the York and Durham areas. Kevin and Mary-Anne first became involved with Strawberry Creek Farm Market in the early 2000s, supplying sweet corn for the market. They officially took over in 2015 after several years of partnership.
What Kevin and Mary-Anne appreciate most about the farm is the chance to work side by side as a family, doing something they love. They enjoy the variety that each day brings, the opportunity to work outdoors, and the rewarding experience of mentoring and working alongside young people. A strong sense of community has grown around the farm, with familiar faces — both customers and seasonal staff — returning year after year. Traditions like the corn maze and the pumpkin cannon have become cherished parts of the farm experience. We invite you to stop by the market, experience the farm, and become part of the Strawberry Creek family.
